Dance festival

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A dance festival is a regular (mostly annually) cultural event at which several contemporary dance pieces and ballets as well as dance theater pieces , dance operas and performances are organized by an organizer on different stages and other locations in a city . A dance festival is often carried out in cooperation with a municipal theater , opera house and other institutions where dance theater ensembles or ballet companies regularly develop dance art and produce and present dance pieces. Pieces by other choreographers and dance ensembles from other cities are usually invited to a dance festival and international competitions with award ceremonies are announced.
