Wallpaper (* 1983 , bourgeois Leonard Kroppach ) is a rapper from Berlin .

Artistic career

Kroppach's career as a wallpaper began in 2005. In February 2012, he gained greater media attention when it became known that the Berlin-Mitte job center threatened to cut his payments based on his texts about his life as a Hartz IV recipient. In May 2012 he started his own business. Most of his songs can be downloaded free of charge from wallpaper online; many have a Creative Commons license. He is not a member of GEMA . He generates income through appearances and donations. For some songs he worked with the rapper Sookee , also from Berlin . He had other featurings with Lena Stoehr Faktor , Quetschenpaua and Mogli from the band Frucht des Zorns .

Style and texts

In his texts, wallpaper deals with social and political issues and takes a clear left-wing standpoint. For example, in his album Sumpf , he criticized German social policy and the FDP during the black-yellow coalition . In the same album he also expresses his sympathy for the squatter scene . Many of his texts are critical of capitalism and anti-nationalist. In contrast, the album Sonne, Mond und Punkt is more characterized by self-reflection . In 2011 he took a stand against homophobia together with Sookee in the song "Pro Homo" .

On the video portal Youtube , wallpaper publishes some music videos for his songs, including more complex productions such as a 360-degree video .
