The old Taposiris Parva ( Montazah ) is probably the successor to the Greek name Busiris . The ancient Egyptian town was located in Lower Egypt on a small peninsula on the Mediterranean Sea east of Alexandria . Taposiris Parva is one of the six places that have so far been localized under the Greek name Busiris.
In ancient Egypt, the small village was in the third sub-Egyptian district . Although the place has been mentioned several times, nothing more is known about ancient Egyptian history.
