Taras Kermauner

Taras Kermauner (born April 13, 1930 in Ljubljana ; † June 11, 2008 ibid) was a Yugoslav or Slovenian literary historian , philosopher , essayist , critic and dramaturge . He was considered the most profound researcher and expert on Slovenian drama. Kermauner was a member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts .

He studied at the University of Ljubljana , where he obtained a degree in philosophy in 1954. He worked as a freelance writer and administrative assistant. In 1981 he received his doctorate from the University of Sarajevo on the dramas of Ivan Cankar .
