"Air Cocaine"

In early November 2009, an older Venezuelan Boeing 727 passenger aircraft , loaded with presumably 10 tons of cocaine , was found burned out on a nearby unused desert runway. After the unloading, the aircraft was very likely brought down from the runway before it was set on fire by drug traffickers , according to an on-site investigation by a journalist with the French news agency AFP . The first reports still spoke of a crash. It is believed that cocaine was smuggled from Venezuela (via Guinea-Bissau ) to Mali.
