The Tashkömür dam is located in Kyrgyzstan on the Naryn at the confluence of the right tributary Karasuu .
The Taschkömür dam was built between 1986 and 1995. It is located 10 kilometers upstream from the city of Tashkömür . In the area of the dam, the Naryn cuts through the mountains between the plateau of the Naryn lowlands in the east and the Fergana valley in the west. To the east is the Ferghana Mountains . Upriver is the Kurpsai Dam , downstream the Schamaldysai Dam .
The dam height is 75 m. The storage volume is 140 million m³. The net volume is 10 million m³. The reservoir has a length of 18.5 km. The hydropower plant has 10 turbines of 45 MW each, so that the total installed output is 450 MW. The annual output is 1555 million kWh .
