The Kurpsai Dam is located in Kyrgyzstan on the Naryn .
The Kurpsai Dam was built between 1974 and 1981. It is located 30 kilometers upstream from the city of Tashkömür . In the area of the dam, the Naryn cuts through the mountains between the plateau of the Naryn lowlands in the east and the Fergana valley in the west. To the east is the Ferghana Mountains . Upstream is the Toktogul Dam .
The dam height is 113 m. The storage volume is 370 million m³. The net volume is 35 million m³. The reservoir has a length of about 35 km and an area of 12.2 km². The hydropower plant has 4 turbines of 200 MW each, so that the total installed output is 800 MW. The annual output is 2630 million kWh . The fall height is 110 m. In addition to the Naryn, the reservoir is fed by the Karasuu , which flows into the reservoir not far from the city of Karaköl .
