The mega-yacht Tatoosh belonged to the late Microsoft co- founder Paul Allen for a long time . With a length of 92 meters, it is one of the top 100 on the list of the longest motor yachts . Their name goes back to the chief of the Makah , who European explorers met at the end of the 18th century. The American billionaire also owned the 126-meter-long yacht Octopus .

history

Tatoosh in Antibes (2008)

The Tatoosh was originally designed by Kusch Yachts for the American cell phone magnate Craig McCaw and built in the German shipyard Nobiskrug in Rendsburg . The yacht was completed in June 2000. As early as 2001, she was resold to Paul Allen for an estimated 100 million US dollars .

Special features and technical data

The yacht has five decks. Special features are, for example, a “master suite”, a salon with a French limestone fireplace and a cinema. External features are a lobster tank , two devices for transporting helicopters and two parking spaces for a boat each 12 meters in length. The parking space on the port side was used for a sailing yacht in May 2008.

On January 14, 2016, around 80 percent of a 1,300 square meter coral reef near Grand Cayman's West Bay was destroyed by the ship's anchor chain.
