Baptismal font in Méry-sur-Oise

The baptismal font in the parish church of St-Denis in Méry-sur-Oise , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was created in the 13th century. The Gothic baptismal font has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1938 .

The upper part of the 1.20 meter high, square baptismal font was made from a single block of stone. Decorations in the form of leaves are attached to the basin and the narrower base on all four sides. Remains of a polychrome painting are still present on the stone. The damage to the upper edge comes from a later attached lid that is no longer there.
