Taufkirchen is a district and a district of the municipality of Falkenberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn .

location

The place is located on the slope of the 482 m high Haselberg, 4 km southwest of Falkenberg and almost 6 km northwest of Eggenfelden . The Mertseebach , a tributary of the Rott , flows past in the south. At the same time, the PAN 32 district road leads to Eggenfelden. Federal highway 20 runs 3 km to the east .

history

Presumably the area was already settled at the turn of the times. Local historians differ about the origins of Taufkirchen. The place is first mentioned in a document in 1224.

Until the municipal reform Taufkirchen was a separate municipality with the districts Amelgering , Geiersberg , Großkay , Guglmucken , Hausleiten , box , Latzelsberg , Pendlöd , Perterting , Ponzaunöd , Ranzing , Remmelsberg in Falkenberg , Schoenberg , plug , forest and Wölfing . In 1972 all places were incorporated into Falkenberg.

Others

The Church of the Assumption of Mary was built in 1459, a small previous building a few centuries earlier.
