Taylon Bieldt (born November 4, 1998 ) is a South African hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter distance .

Athletic career

Taylon Bieldt gained her first international experience in 2014 at the African Youth Games in Gaborone , where she won the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles in 63.04 seconds. She then took part in the 100-meter hurdles at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where she made it to the semifinals, in which she was no longer able to start. The following year, she won the African Youth Championships in Réduit in 13.30 seconds over 100 meter hurdles and in 59.22 seconds over 400 meter hurdles and secured herself with the sprint relay (1000 meters) in 2: 11.21 minutes the silver medal. Then she reached the semi-finals at the Youth World Championships in Cali , where she was eliminated with 13.57 seconds and won the silver medal with the mixed South African relay in 3: 23.60 minutes. She then won the Commonwealth Youth Games in Apia in 13.18 s . In 2016 she finished fourth in 13.47 s at the African Championships in Durban and then finished seventh in 13.37 s at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz and was eliminated with the 4 x 100 meter relay with 45.98 s Forward off. The following year she won the Junior African Championships in Tlemcen in 13.82 s. 2019 it reached at the Summer Universiade in Naples in the 200-meter race the semifinals, where she was eliminated with 23.83 s. With the 4 x 100 meter relay she could not qualify for the final in 46.05 s, while she finished seventh with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 35.97 min. At the end of August she won the bronze medal at the African Games in Rabat in 13.40 seconds behind the Nigerian Tobi Amusan and Marthe Koala from Burkina Faso. In addition, she secured the silver medal behind Nigeria with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 44.61 seconds and finished fifth with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 41.17 minutes.

In 2018 and 2019 , Bieldt was the South African champion in the 100 meter hurdles.
