Taylor Benjamin York (born December 17, 1989 ) is an American rock guitarist, drummer and record producer. He has been a member of the alternative rock band Paramore since 2009 . He also plays keyboard , glockenspiel and percussion during Paramore concerts . On some songs he also played the drums . His brother is Justin York, a tour member of Relient K and Paramore.

biography

Taylor Benjamin York was born on December 17th, 1989 in Nashville , Tennessee , USA. He is the son of Peter York, an executive at Sparrow Records. Taylor York also has another brother named Chris York. His father is a skilled guitar player and taught both Taylor and his brother Justin York to play the guitar. However, Taylor York was initially more interested in drumming. It wasn't until Paramore formed that he switched to guitar in order to be able to contribute to the band.

York was already in a band with the Farro brothers Josh and Zac before they met Hayley Williams . He helped write some of the songs on her debut album All We Know Is Falling . Also Decode from Twilight soundtrack comes in part from his pen. He was a Tour member with Paramore from 2007 to 2009 before becoming an official member in 2009.

After rhythm guitarist Hunter Lamb left the group in 2007, York joined the band as a rhythm guitarist initially exclusively for live concerts. In the thanks for the group's second album, Riot! , he was named by Hayley Williams as well as Josh and Zac Farro. In the subsequent live album The Final Riot , he was first listed as a member of the band. Paramore later officially announced that York was now an official member of the band. Since then, he also participates in the recordings of the albums in part, since the 2013er work Paramore He is also active as a music producer.
