The Team New Zealand is a New Zealand sailing team.

Team New Zealand, named after the main sponsor Emirates Team New Zealand since 2006 , won the America's Cup 5-0 in 1995 against Young America in San Diego with 5-0 and defended it 5-0 against Luna Rossa from Italy in Auckland in 2000 . But shortly after the defense, the key figures Russell Coutts and Brad Butterworth left the team and switched to competitor Alinghi , which caused the team to collapse and more sailors to leave the team. New Zealander Dean Barker, who had been a member of the team since 1995, became the new skipper in 2000.

In 2003 the team lost 5-0 to Alinghi at the America's Cup in Auckland . The main sponsor at the time, SAP , then withdrew. Only after the New Zealand government promised the team funding, it was able to take part in the 32nd America's Cup 2007 in Valencia , where it again lost 5-2 to Alinghi in the final.

In mid-February 2009 Emirates Team New Zealand won the Pacific Series hosted by Louis Vuitton in Auckland against Team Alinghi .

In September 2013 Emirates Team New Zealand lost the 19 regattas 34th America's Cup in San Francisco to Oracle Team USA. It won the following 35th America's Cup under the new skipper Glenn Ashby and with Olympic champion Peter Burling as helmsman 7-1 against the defending champion. The decision to win the third cup was made on June 26, 2017 in the Great Sound of the Bermuda Islands. In the last race the New Zealand boat Aotearoa clearly dominated the opponents.
