Technoform is a German, internationally active family company with headquarters in Kassel . The company specializes in the extrusion of thermoplastic plastic profiles and employs over 1,500 people worldwide.
history
Technoform was founded in 1969 by Karl-Hans Caprano and Erwin Brunnhofer in Kassel. The family company began under the slogan “Precision in plastic” to manufacture technical profiles from thermoplastics that were suitable for drawings. The first patent application for the PPZ I process developed by Technoform was filed as early as 1975.
In the founding years, special profiles made of polystyrene , surface profiles made of ABS for skis and tread profiles made of polyethylene were manufactured. Over the course of time, the company gradually expanded its product portfolio and has been continuously expanding the manufacturing and sales capacities in its various divisions since the 1990s. From a global perspective, the second-generation family company is now present in important markets with its own production facilities or regional sales locations on almost all continents.
Technoform produces around one billion meters of high-precision plastic profiles worldwide every year, making it one of the most important providers in this segment.
At the end of September 2016 it was announced that the two companies Extrusion Tooling GmbH (TET) in Kassel and Technoform Bautec GmbH from Fuldabrück want to merge. This would lead to the expiry of the works council mandate of the TET, which brought the company management the charge from several sides that this was the real purpose of the merger.

Products
Technoform specializes in the extrusion of thermoplastic plastic profiles. This specialization applies in particular to the production and development of insulating profiles for windows, doors and facades made of aluminum. Technoform is also one of the leading providers of hybrid spacers for thermally optimized solutions for insulating glass windows in the area of glass edges. Tailor-made solutions and important system components made of high-precision thermoplastics for numerous branches and industries complement the numerous standard solutions from Technoform.
