Controversy over the book After Terror
In 2003, Suhrkamp-Verlag took out Honderich's book After Terror. A treatise from the program on the author's stance on Palestinian terrorism. Micha Brumlik , head of the Fritz Bauer Institute in Frankfurt, had previously criticized Honderich's treatise for the alleged " anti-Semitic anti - Zionism " contained therein . Honderich writes u. a. that “the Palestinians exercised a moral right with their terrorism against the Israelis”. In an open letter, Norman Paech defended Honderich and criticized Brumlik for having misinterpreted and abbreviated the tenor of the book. The subject is the phenomena of terrorism and not the Jewish people as such. In 2004 the book was published in a new translation by Melzer Verlag .
