Ted Sieger

Ted Sieger (born May 18, 1958 in Coquimbo , Chile ) is a Swiss musician , illustrator , author , director and animation filmmaker . He grew up in Chile, Peru, Australia and Switzerland, later he also lived in Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Berlin.

Life

For years Ted Sieger was looking for a job that appealed to him. He works as a roofer, ferryman, groom, night porter, forest worker, street musician, machinist on a cargo ship to Africa, chestnut seller, groom and egg counter in an egg factory until he found his calling as an artist. Since then he has drawn, developed and produced animated films and children's books with a lot of humor and poetry. His short film series "Ted Sieger's Wildlife" and several about "Die kleine Monsterin" are now shown in many countries as TV series for preschoolers. As a Christmas special, “The Fourth King” came in 2005 and “Molly and the Christmas Monster” in 2010 on television and cinemas.

Ted Sieger has been a lecturer at the animation schools in La Poudrière , Valence , France and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences since 1998 .

In 2007, the expert jury of the 15th Children's Film & TV FestivalGoldener Spatz ” recognized Ted Sieger and Michael Ekblad as the best pre-school program for their work “The Fourth King”. Likewise, the jury of the Hungarian KAFF Festival with honorable mention. The latest animated film with the little monster "Molly Monster" has been in cinemas since February 18, 2016.

Ted Sieger finds the ideas for his stories by observing his own children and grandchildren.
