The pond at Wöbbel is a nature reserve in Schieder-Schwalenberg- Wöbbel in the Lippe district .
Characteristic
The nature reserve, which is only 2.77 hectares in size, consists of two former clay and marl pits , which are separated by the Niedersachsenweg . Only the southern pit is filled with water and was temporarily secured in January 1981. In addition to floating leaf plants , reptiles and amphibians in particular were a reason for protection: the sand lizard , four newt species , common toad , sea , pond and common frog were found . In the original (but later not realized) plan, it was planned to create several small bodies of water in the area north of the path.
In the information on the biotope worthy of protection (BK-4020-386), in addition to the value-determining characteristics - valuable for amphibians, dragonflies and reptiles, stepping stone biotope - there are also critical remarks such as the silting of the water, anointed plants, garbage deposits in the northern forest and a seating area at the lake, which contradicts the proposal of the entry ban.
