The Teie Point is a headland at the head of Cumberland West Bay on the north coast of South Georgia . It separates Mercer Bay from Harpon Bay .
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) led by Otto Nordenskjöld mapped them for the first time. The South Georgia Survey repeated this during its survey campaign , which ran from 1951 to 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after the sailing ship Teie of the Norwegian whaling company Tønsbergs Hvalfangeri in Husvik .
