Teixeira Duarte SA is one of the largest construction companies in Portugal . From its headquarters in Porto Salvo in the Oeiras district near Lisbon , the company operates primarily in Portuguese-speaking countries such as Portugal, Brazil , Angola , Mozambique , Macau , but also in countries such as Venezuela and Algeria . The company is listed in Euronext Lisbon. Teixeira Duarte ranks 78th among the largest European construction companies.

Teixeira Duarte, SA was founded in 1921 by the engineer Ricardo Esquível Teixeira Duarte. The Teixeira Duarte Group employs around 13,500 people in sixteen countries and is active in eight different areas: construction, cement and concrete, building materials, concessions and services, real estate, hospitality, grocery, fuel and motor vehicle trading. As the second largest shareholder, Teixeira Duarte SA has a seven percent stake in Banco Comercial Português (BCP).

In March 2010, Teixeira Duarte signed a contract with the Angolan government for the new building of the National Assembly. The construction volume amounts to 185 million US dollars .
