Tekniska Högskolan is an underground station of the Stockholm subway , which is located south of the eponymous Tekniska Högskolan . It is located in the Östermalm district . The station is served by the Röda linjen of the Stockholm subway system , as well as by the narrow-gauge Roslagsbanan , which stops at the above-ground station Stockholms östra , and buses to Norrtälje . The central location in the city center as well as the numerous transfer options make the station one of the busiest on the underground network. On a normal working day, 23,000 commuters get on here.

The station went into operation on September 30, 1973, when the northern section of the Röda linjen between Östermalmstorg and Tekniska Högskolan was inaugurated and was the terminus of the T14 line until January 12, 1975 before the extension of the Röda linjen to the university was opened . The platforms are about 18 meters underground. The station is located between the Stadion and Universitetet stations . It is around 2.5 km to Stockholm Central Station .
