Norrtälje is a city in the Swedish province of Stockholm County and the historic province of Uppland .
The city on the Baltic Sea is about 68 kilometers north of Stockholm and is the capital of the municipality of the same name .

Norrtälje was founded by Gustav II Adolf in 1622 and, like many Swedish seaside towns, burned down by the Russians in 1719.
