Video games (broadcast)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Telespiele was a television show on German television with Thomas Gottschalk as the presenter . It was his second TV leg after his TV debut on the show Szene .

The concept of the show, which was developed by SWF technician Erhard Möller , was to play the video games popular at the time with the candidates in the studio and candidates on the phone. For example, there was pong (previously also known as tennis), in which the candidates tried to move the racket on the edge of the field with changing volume of their voice on the phone. The louder the candidate uttered his tones, the higher the bat rose. Later there was also a Pac-Man version, in which the candidate steered the play figure in a bumper car. After each round of the game, the winner could request music videos or TV clips. The final winner also won a video game.

The new broadcast concept was supported by one of the SWF entertainment directors, Wolfgang Penk , and the first program was broadcast on November 11, 1977 by SWF. In 1981 the show was broadcast on the first program , where it replaced the program Die Mondaymaler and achieved up to 40% market share. After Gottschalk switched to ZDF in the same year , the show was discontinued. By 1981, 29 episodes were broadcast. The program was produced by Holm Dressler .

The show's theme song was Corn Flakes by Klaus Wunderlich .

In the first show, instead of viewer candidates, celebrities were on the phone. Those celebrities included Ute Verhoolen and Tony Marshall .
