Wolfgang Penk

Wolfgang Penk (born April 3, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German television producer . Penk was head of entertainment at ZDF for twelve years .

Life

Born in Berlin, he first worked in the film industry after studying music and was then one of the first men at ZDF. As a department head of Südwestfunk Baden-Baden, he launched programs such as “ Die Mondagsmaler ” with Frank Elstner and “ Auf Los geht's los ” with Joachim Fuchsberger .

At ZDF he later developed Europe's most successful television show “ Wetten, dass ..? “And discovered and promoted talents like Thomas Gottschalk , Günther Jauch and Frank Elstner .
