In the summer of 1993 he moved to Germany. He was hired by the second division club FC Homburg . He played with the Saarlanders from 1993 to 1997. Then the Romanian played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . With RWO he reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup in 1999 . A year later, Rus went to the then regional league team Karlsruher SC . In December 2002 until the end of this season, Teodor Rus played at SV Waldhof Mannheim . In March, the midfielder's season was over after 12 appearances. A tear in the inner ligament prevented the Romanian from intervening in the relegation battle. After the club was relegated to the league, Rus left Mannheim in the direction of Erfurt . About Eschborn and Nöttingen he ended his career as a player with TSV Grunbach in 2010 .

Coaching career

He continued his career as a coach at TSV Grunbach . With this he became runner-up in the upper league and was qualified for relegation to the regional league, but Grunbach could not manage this financially, but reported the 1st team and put it together with the 1st CfR Pforzheim . Teodor Rus became coach in the summer of 2014 and immediately won the cup against SV Waldhof. From the association league, he rose with his team to the league.

In December 2017 Rus took over the upper division SSV Reutlingen as coach. After failing to win in 2019, however, he was released on April 29, 2019. Rus had the best points average since Armin Veh , who worked as a Reutlingen coach from 1998 to 2002.
