Teodora Maltschewa ( Bulgarian Теодора Малчева ; born January 25, 1983 in Trojan ) is a Bulgarian cross-country skier .

Career

Maltschewa has been taking part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2002 . Since 2008 she has mainly competed in the Balkan Cup . She has won nine so far and won the overall standings in the 2010/11 , 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. In the 2009/10 season she was second overall. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf were 63rd place in the sprint and 17th place in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she finished 67th in the sprint. She ran her first World Cup race in November 2009 in Beitostølen , which she finished with 88th place in the 10 km freestyle. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , she reached 65th place over 10 km freestyle. In January 2011, she achieved 45th place in the sprint in Liberec, her best individual World Cup result to date. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she finished 58th in the sprint and 57th place over 10 km classic. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 70th place over 10 km freestyle and 18th place in the team sprint. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she reached 54th place in the sprint.
