Teodoro Valcárcel

Teodoro Valcárcel (born October 17, 1900 in Puno , † March 20, 1942 in Lima ) was a Peruvian composer.

Valcárcel studied in Peru with Luis Duncker Lavalle , from 1914 at the Conservatory of Milan with Vincenzo Appiani and later in Barcelona with Felipe Pedrell . From 1920 he lived in Lima. In 1928 he received the Premio Nacional de Composición . In 1929 he represented his country at the Iberoamericano de Música Festival in Barcelona. He composed a. a. an opera, two ballets, a symphonic poem and a violin concerto. Some of his works were orchestrated by Rodolfo Holzmann .
