This was followed by roles in various film and television productions such as the crime film Plea for a Murderer and the television series The Buccaneers , in which Cooper played "Costellaux" for 14 episodes alongside Robert Shaw . He became known to a broad cinema audience in 1967 through the James Bond parody Casino Royale . In this production, various Secret Service employees around the aged "Sir James Bond" ( David Niven ) are sometimes given out as the famous British agent, including the "Agent Cooper" embodied by Cooper. In the early 1970s, Cooper re-impersonated MI6 agent Bond, this time for television commercials.

In 1976, Cooper moved to New Zealand, where he was regularly in front of the camera. He played the New Zealand ambassador in the Kevin Costner thriller No Way Out , appeared in comedies like See you later, Mr. Aligator! and kangaroo Carlos . He also took on guest roles in television series such as Hotel , Secret Order for John Drake and Bony, and his commissioner after Arthur W. Upfield . In the series Children of Fire Mountain , he had 13 episodes long, the supporting roles of "Sir Charles Pemberton" and in the ZDF - Christmas series Jack Holborn , he embodied the pirate captain his loyal obedient "boatswain Morris". He also lent his voice to radio play productions.

In addition to his acting career, Cooper worked as a painter. His main motifs were the tropical rainforest of Australia and the bird world. In Auckland he also ran Trouper Cooper's Curry House . In 1980 and 1982 he even published his own cookbooks, The Parnell Cook Book and Trouper Cooper's Curry Cookbook .
