Bony and his Commissioner (original title: Bony ) is an Australian crime series in 13 episodes from 1992, which was created based on the motifs of the writer Arthur W. Upfield . In 1990 the TV movie Bony: Ride to Death preceded.

action

The series plot follows purely thematically to the story of the television film Bony: Fahrt in den Tod, which was produced in 1990 . David Kevin Bonaparte has since been promoted to Detective Constable. And because in the future his new field of activity will mainly be in the largest city in Australia, he is taking a trip to Sydney accompanied by his Aboriginal godfather Albert Harris. Immediately after his arrival, Bony meets his old colleague Bev Miles again. But Bony is also eagerly awaited by his new colleague and superior, Sergeant Frank Fischer. Because Bony's first murder case occurred on the very same train that took him to Sydney a few minutes ago.

In the following years, Bony and Frank not only become a successful investigative duo, they also become close friends who can work together perfectly. And the traditional skills of the Australian natives, learned by Bony in his youth, to understand nature and to develop “sensual powers”, are of great benefit to him from time to time.

production

The series was conceived by former Australian TV producer Reg Watson and produced by Grundy Australia Productions for Australian broadcaster Seven Network .

synchronization

The German dubbing was created in 1993 based on a dubbing book by Siegfried Rabe under his dialogue direction on behalf of ZDF and ORF .

Cameron Daddo

Daddo played the title role of David Kevin "Bony" Bonaparte for the first time in 1990 in the television film Bony: Fahrt in den Tod , based on a story by the writer Reg Watson . Because he had already played this role there with success, it was offered to him again in 1992, this time as the title character in a 13-part German-Australian crime series. Daddo has been married to Alison Brahe since December 1991, with whom he has three children.

Christian Kohlund

Kohlund is primarily at home in the light genre: In addition to crime novels and television films, he was often seen in entertainment series. He embodies the character of the German-born Commissioner Frank Fischer for the first time, as this role was not originally part of the television film made in 1990. Kohlund has been married to the former pop singer Elke Best , with whom he has two children, for the third time since 1982 .

Burnum Burnum

Burnum Burnum appeared as an actor in a total of three feature films, two thrillers and the satirical film "The Marsupials" before he was offered the role of Albert Harris in the television film Bony: Fahrt in den Tod and the resulting television series . In the last years of his life, Burnum Burnum lived in Sydney with his wife and son . In 1997 he died unexpectedly of heart failure.

Terence Cooper

Cooper began his artistic career on the theater stages in England. In 1976 he moved to New Zealand, where he was regularly in front of the camera. He starred in numerous other television series before taking on the role of Leo Vincetti in Bony and his Commissioner in 1992.
