Bony: Drive to death (original title: Bony ) is an Australian Crime - TV movie from the year 1990 that has arisen on a story by Reg Watson. In 1992 the television series Bony and his commissioner followed .

action

The film plot first tells the story of little David Kevin Bonaparte, who at the age of nine lost his parents in a tragic accident. That is why he grew up in the following years with his grandmother Edith and the Aboriginal godfather Albert Harris. With this, Bony, always encouraged by his "Uncle Albert", is the first white man to learn at an early age to draw on the rich knowledge of the Australian aborigines and to understand important connections between their traditional skills and nature. Over time, Bony even developed the necessary “sensual powers”. Years later as a young man, after successfully completing his training as a police officer, Bony left the police academy as one of the best students, together with his colleague and friend Ned Bowen. Their first joint assignment as a junior constable should lead the two of them to the small town of Woongala, in the middle of the Australian outback.

Their new colleague Bev Miles awaits them at their future position with Senior Sergeant Frank Carter. But when Bony arrives there about six weeks after his friend, Bev tells him that Ned has allegedly disappeared for days without a trace. Bony, who neither can nor really believe this claim, gets Uncle Albert to help. Together, the two try to find out how this mysterious disappearance of Ned came about and who or what exactly is behind it. Over time, the evidence that Ned is no longer alive grows stronger. This begs the question for Bony what happened to his friend.

The trail leads to Angela Hemmings, the young wife of the entrepreneur and millionaire Tom Hemmings, who has only a few days to live due to acute cancer. Bony finds out that Angela, as the sole heiress, has legitimate hopes for her husband's fortune. She also has an affair with Bony's new boss, Frank Carter. It was only by accident that Ned discovered the relationship between the two. Fearing Tom's disinheritance, Angela shot Ned because she assumed he would immediately inform her terminally ill husband. Frank Carter then disposed of Ned's body under the concrete of the new swimming pool, which was completed a few days ago.
