Teresa Forcades i Vila

Teresa Forcades (* 1966 in Barcelona ) is a Catalan doctor , theologian and Benedictine - nun . She is considered a feminist theologian and a critic of the pharmaceutical industry in the public health sector . She also represents the conspiracy theory that one Ebola and malaria with MMS can heal and the pharmaceutical industry is trying to push this effective and cheap drug from the market.

biography

Born in the Gràcia district of Barcelona, ​​Teresa Forcades i Vila studied medicine at the University of Barcelona and specialized in internal medicine at the State University of New York in 1995 . She then studied theology at Harvard University and graduated in 1997 with a Master in Divinitas (Master in Theology) from Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza .

After her return, she joined the Monestir de Sant Benet de Montserrat in Marganell (in the Bages municipal association ) in September 1997 . In 2004 she received her PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Barcelona. Since she had studied theology at a Protestant faculty and also specialized in feminist theology, her Harvard studies were not recognized there. For this reason, she received another doctorate in fundamental theology at the theological faculty of Catalonia , at the Institute for Fundamental Theology in Sant Cugat in 2005 .

Teresa Forcades i Vila was Vice-President from 2009 to 2011 and then Treasurer of ESWTR until 2013 .

Since 2009 she has been a visiting professor at the Chair for Theology and Gender Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Feminist theology

She devoted her doctoral thesis in theology to the concept of the person . In 2005, her graduation thesis on the Holy Trinity ( The Trinity Today ) was published in Catalan . She also published a book on Feminist Theology in History in 2007 .

Public healthcare system

In 2006, she published her book: The Crimes of Big Pharmaceutical Companies , in which she denounced the abuse of big pharmaceutical companies who use their economic power to put their interests above public health. According to Forcades, pharmaceutical research depends on economic success and not on disease mortality . She also laments the abuse of the sick in the developing world .
