Teresino Serra

Teresino Serra MCCJ (born January 10, 1947 in Berchidda , Sardinia ) is a Roman Catholic religious priest . He was Superior General of the Comboni Missionaries from 2003 to 2009 .

Life

Teresino Serra joined the order of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus and studied theology in Rome and the USA. He was ordained a priest on September 16, 1973 . He then served as a missionary in the United States (1973–1978), Kenya (1978–1983), and Mexico (1983–1987). In 1998 he returned to Italy and became director of communications for his order.

The XVI. The General Chapter of the Comboni Missionaries had elected Teresino Serra as the new Superior General of the Order for a term of six years. He was followed in 2009 by Enrique Sánchez González .
