The Terma Polana Szymoszkowa , also called Kąpielisko Termlane Polana Szymoszkowa , is a thermal bath in Zakopane at the foot of the Polish High Tatras in the Podhale region in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship , the powiat Tatrzański , which has been open since 2007 . It is located in the center of Zakopane on the southern slope of Zakopan's local mountain Gubałówka .

description

The Podhale region at the foot of the Tatras is rich in thermal springs. Here the occurrence of thermal springs is densest in Poland and one of the densest in Europe. The underground thermal waters extend from Podhale to Slovakia and Budapest in Hungary. However, the use of thermal springs in Poland only began at the beginning of the 21st century. Terma Polana Szymoszkowa is one of the many thermal baths that have emerged in Podhale in recent years.

The mineral-rich thermal water is extracted from the Szymoszkowa GT1 borehole . The thermal water produced is 30 ° C warm. It is used for medicinal purposes due to its mineral content (potassium, lime, magnesium and sodium).

The thermal bath has two large pools in the outdoor pool area, several water slides and several playing fields. The spa also includes the luxury hotel Hotel Mercure-Kasprowy and the Polana Szymoszkowa ski area . The Giewont massif can be clearly seen from the basin . The Cicha Woda Zakopiańska stream flows below the thermal baths .
