The Tettuccio thermal baths have been known as Bagno Nuovo , "new bath", since the 14th century .

The building, designed by the architect Gaspare Maria Paoletti between 1779 and 1781, was characterized by a rustic portal with a scenic effect. In 1916, the Florentine architect Ugo Giovannozzi presented a restructuring project for the entire complex based on the concept of Roman baths. The complex is located in a park full of Lebanon cedars , palm trees , coastal sequoias , acacias , laurel , wisteria , pines , limes and impressive colonnades , stands, exedra , fountains and large flower beds lined with boxwood . The monumental entrance is protected by a large gate, a large wrought iron canopy and polychrome glass windows - the work of the Berti factory in Pistoia . On top of the main facade are four large Carrara marble statues designed by Corrado Vigni. They represent: source; Medicine; Hygiene; Health. The elaborate decorative elements of the facade come from Aristide Aloisi.

The element that distinguishes the building is a granite spring (see top picture) shaped like a seashell and supported by a bronze group of sea figures (a large octopus, two fish, two crocodiles, some frogs) - a work of the Florentine By the sculptor Sirio Tofanari, whose name can be read on the shell of a large crab. A semicircular colonnade that the inscription on the located on the sides of the source architrave highlights: BALSAMO CHE tolto VIEN DI SOTTERRA E S'APRE AL CHIARO GIORNO (of Giuseppe Parini ) (mutatis mutandis translated " The vacant balms originate the depth and unfold on a clear day ”).

In 1926, the Pescaresian painter Basilio Cascella designed seven large polychrome allegories made of ceramic tiles for the galleria dei banchi di mescita . Each panel shows a marble arch in which the title of the various representations can be read. Images and words that improve the beneficial effects of water in different ages: childhood; Adolescence; Beauty; Source; Force; Maturity; Age.

On the right side of the inner square is a raised circular grandstand that serves as the seat of the orchestra. The dome is characterized by the frescoes by Ezio Giovannozzi depicting the various groups of instrumentalists with the words: strings and piano - brass and tympanum - oboe and flute - organ and harp . The architrave, which is located above the pillars of the grandstand, bears the inscription: IL SUON CHE DI DOLCEZZA I SENSI LEGA (from a sonnet of the Canzoniere by Francesco Petrarca ) (roughly translated: " The sound that so sweetly binds the senses " ).

Inside the complex there is a hall for congresses and events that was restructured by Paolo Portoghesi in 1988.
