The Terrouin is a 30-kilometer-long left tributary of the Moselle in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department , France . It rises at Laneuveville-derrière-Foug , about eight kilometers northeast of Toul and flows north of Nancy , at Villey-Saint-Étienne into the Moselle.

Run

The river has its source at the foot of the Côtes de Toul in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park , in which most of its course lies. It initially follows a northerly direction, but then turns to the east and finally to the southeast, before reaching its confluence with the Moselle at Villey-Saint-Étienne. Its tributaries include the Ru de Woëvre and the Longeau.

Hydrology

The terrouin has a catchment area of 170.5 km²; its average annual runoff at the confluence with the Moselle is 0.70 m³ / s. The discharge coefficient of the basin is 129.5 mm, which is only half of the average in France and a third of the French part of the Moselle catchment area (445 mm in Hauconcourt, below Metz ).
