Terry Ackland-Snow

Terry Ackland-Snow (born December 1943 in London , England ) is an English production designer . He has worked in the film industry for over 40 years. He is currently head of fdi, Film Design International at Pinewood Film Studios, where he gives art direction trainings.

Life

Terry Ackland-Snow began his film career in the Art Department at Elstree Studios at the age of 18. His first job as a junior draftsman was for a television series called Richard the Lion Heart . From then on he worked in the various positions of the Art Department up to Production Designer. His first full-length feature film as an independent production designer was the melodrama Desire on Shady Days ( In the Cool of the Day ) with Peter Finch , Jane Fonda and Angela Lansbury in 1963 . This was followed by other important productions in British cinema. His greatest success so far was the production design for the Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975).

As a production designer , Terry Ackland-Snow is Chairman of the British Film Designers Guild (BFDG). In 2001 he founded "Film Design International" in order to pass on his knowledge to young people entering the film industry.
