The Tersa ( Russian Терса́ ) is a right tributary of the Medveditsa in the Russian oblasts of Saratov and Volgograd .
The Tersa rises in the Volga Heights in Saratov Oblast. First it flows past the Rajonverwaltungszentrum Samoilowka south and a little later reached the Volgograd Oblast. At the Rajon administrative center Jelan it takes its most important tributary, the Jelan , from the right. Then it turns to the east, passes the village of the same name Tersa and after 249 km flows into the Medveditsa a little below the Rajon center Rudnja on the right. A few kilometers above the mouth, the Schelkan meets the Tersa from the left. The Tersa drains an area of 8810 km². It is mainly fed by the snowmelt . In April there is an annual flood . 120 km above the mouth, the mean discharge (MQ) is 5.6 m³ / s. In dry years, the Tersa river can dry out for up to 6 months. Between the beginning of December and the end of March, the Tersa is usually covered with ice.
