Tessa Benoit (born March 17, 1977 in Hanover ) is a former American cross-country skier .

Career

Benoit competed internationally for the first time at the Junior World Ski Championships in Gällivare in 1995 and achieved 66th place over 5 km classic and 62nd place over 15 km freestyle. At the Junior World Ski Championships in 1996 in Asiago she ran on the 74th place over 15 km classic and on the 68th place over 5 km classic and at the Junior World Ski Championships 1997 in Canmore on the 65th place over 5 km classic and on the 14th place with the relay. She completed her first of a total of three individual World Cup races at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein . There she took 73rd place over 5 km classic. At her last World Cup appearance in January 2001 in Soldier Hollow , she got her only World Cup points with 20th place in the sprint. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti were 42nd place in the sprint and 12th place in the relay. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City she came in 52nd place over 10 km classic and 38th place in the sprint.
