Tetsche

Tetsche (* 1946 in Soltau ; actually Fred Tödter) is a German draftsman, cartoonist , humorist and book author.

Career

Tetsche first worked as a layouter and creative director in Cologne and Hamburg. Since the mid-1970s, Tetsche published his weekly cartoon column News from Kalau in the magazine Stern . His first star cartoon appeared on November 7, 1974. He has already published in the magazines Die Zeit , Konkret , Pardon and Hörzu . In December 2018, the draftsman said goodbye to Stern after 44 years with one last drawing and an interview .

A suction cup , a fried egg , a tooth , a condom or a saw sticking out of a line can often be seen in Tetsche's cartoons . In 2017 Tetsche was awarded the German Cartoon Prize.

Tetsche lives in Steinkirchen near Stade in the Altes Land , Lower Saxony .
