Teun de Nooijer

Teun Floris de Nooijer (born March 22, 1976 in Egmond aan den Hoef ) is a Dutch hockey player who won the gold medal with the Dutch national hockey team of the Netherlands at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games . Teun de Nooijer made his debut for the national team on June 4, 1994 during a friendly against New Zealand. Since then he has played over 400 games for the Netherlands.

De Nooijer plays for the Dutch club HC Bloemendaal (formerly together with Christopher Zeller ) in the Hoofd class . Before that he worked for the Dutch club AMHC Alkmaar and for the Bundesliga club Harvestehuder THC .

In the final of the men's field hockey world championship in 1998 he scored the golden goal against Spain and became world champion. Teun de Nooijer was named World Hockey Player of the Year in 2003, 2005 and 2006 . De Nooijer is the first male hockey player to receive the award three times.

He is married to the German ex-national player Philippa Suxdorf .
