Weidemann had his first contact with computers while he was still at school in 1981. In 1987 he briefly began studying physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , but then decided to join Rainbow Arts and Softgold in North Rhine-Westphalia as Development Director to work. There he was involved in the development of more than 30 games, including Katakis , X-Out , R-Type (conversion only) and MUDS , and worked there with other pioneers in the German game development scene, such as Chris Hülsbeck or Boris Schneider-Johne .

In 1996 he founded his own development studio, Wings Simulations , in Hattingen , North Rhine-Westphalia . Wings Simulations published titles such as Panzer Elite and Mercenary: Secret Wars . The studio was taken over in 2000 by the Austrian game publisher JoWood . After a restructuring and financial difficulties at JoWood, Wings Simulations finally had to close in 2005, shortly after the add-on Mercenary: Marine Corps was released.

Weidemann then worked from 2005 to 2007 as a board member at cdv Software Entertainment . Today he works as a freelance consultant for online entertainment and is also a lecturer at various educational institutions, such as the Ludwigsburg Film Academy or, until 2009, at the Media Design University in Düsseldorf .

From 2009 to 2015 he worked as a consultant for Ubisoft Blue Byte and, as a designer and online specialist, was involved in the project Die Siedler Online .
