Texas Red ( TR ) is a red rhodamine - fluorescent dye . It is used in histology to stain cells . The fluorophore can also be used in molecular biological techniques, such as, for. B. in quantitative real-time PCR . Texas Red has an excitation wavelength at λ max = 586 nm and an emission at λ max = 605 nm.
