Théodore Cériez
Théodore Cériez (born October 11, 1832 in Poperinge , † September 2, 1904 in Ypres ) was a Belgian genre painter .
Théodore Cériez began his artistic training at the Academy of Ypres and continued it at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerp .
He then studied in Paris with Jean Baptiste Fauvelet . Back in Ypres, he dealt with genre painting, mostly in the historical milieu of the time of Louis XV.
He was appointed director of the Ypres Art Academy.
