Thallium (I) chlorate is a chemical compound from the group of thallium compounds and chlorates .
Extraction and presentation
Thallium (I) chlorate can be produced by reacting thallium (I) sulfate with barium chlorate . The TlClO 3 remains in solution, while BaSO 4 precipitates.
properties
Thallium (I) chlorate is a solid which is easily soluble in water. It decomposes when heated, producing chlorine compounds and thallium compounds ( thallium (III) oxide and thallium (I) chloride ).
Thallium (I) chlorate is a strong oxidizing agent and, like all chlorates, must be handled with care .
