The members come from Erkner and Gosen in Brandenburg and Berlin-Hellersdorf . Her songs often deal with the poverty and alcoholism in these places. Their music is often described as eclectic , as borrowings from various styles of rock music can be heard in it.

history

At first they produced for the Berlin label R.OT , like the group MIA. whose guitarist Andy Penn also belonged to Aim of Design from 2001 to 2003 and played drums with them when Andreas Ross . The Aim of Design Is to Define Space released their first EP on a smaller scale on ROT in 2003, entitled Gosen U Can Rave II . Two subsequent tours were largely unsuccessful, although they received high praise from the music press - especially from the taz music editors and the intro - for their intellectually trimmed “Berlin-Brandenburg power rock”.

In October 2005, their new label Hobby Deluxe released their second album, Aim of Design - Good Time (previously recorded and produced as Gosen gives gas on ROT), which is distributed via Indigo . This time the effort is made for less intellectualized texts and more accessible music.

On February 22nd, 2008 the new album with the title "Aimthusiasm" was released by the independent label Haute Areal . In addition, the band shot a short film as a publicity stunt, which is intended as the pilot of a fictional series, also with the title "Aimthusiasm". In fact, no series will follow.

In the film Berlin am Meer (with Robert Stadlober and Jana Pallaske ) the band members can be seen in one scene.
