The Barbra Streisand Album is the first solo studio album by Barbra Streisand . It was released in the United States on February 25, 1963 . Barbra Streisand recorded eleven standards. The LP was well received by audiences and critics alike and received three Grammy Awards in 1964 - Album of the Year, Singer of the Year, Best Album Cover. The album reached number eight in the US as the highest ranking. Disengaged singles were unsuccessful. The album was awarded a gold record in the USA.
