The Colony - Moving into Verderben (German alternative title: Die Kolonie ) is an American thriller from 1995.
action
As the crime rate in the hometown of computer engineer Rick Knowlton rises rapidly, he and his wife and the children decide to make a fresh start. By a lucky coincidence they received an offer from billionaire Philip Denig to move into the posh residential complex "The Colony". This is idyllically outside the city and is equipped with the highest security precautions. After moving in still full of enthusiasm, Rick and his family have to find out very soon what price they have to pay for the so pleasant looking care. Suddenly neighbors disappear inexplicably and the rigorous control mechanisms in the fortress restrict the few freedoms in increasingly frightening ways. As the mysterious incidents pile up, it dawns on the newcomers what danger they are in. The owner of the colony seems to be an authoritarian and power-obsessed psychopath who goes over corpses for his perverse security mania.
Others
The film was released on VHS one year after its appearance.
