action
Years after a terrible virus outbreak that turned much of humanity, especially in Ireland, into bloodthirsty zombies, researchers are finally developing an antidote to the disease. However, this can only rid the infected of the symptoms, but not completely of the virus, and only shows this effect on some of the infected. The civilized people in this way also have the memories from the time as zombie and are accordingly haunted by feelings of guilt, nightmares and flashbacks .
After Senan is cured in this way, he is allowed to return home and moves in with his sister-in-law Abbie and their young son. But not all who are healed are welcomed with open arms. Many survivors cannot forgive the formerly infected for their bloodthirsty deeds. While the remaining infected, who have not yet been relieved of the symptoms of the epidemic, are kept in appropriate facilities, social tensions between the uninfected and the healed are increasing. This development is further fueled by Conor, who turned Senan into a zombie during the virus outbreak. Senan is at odds if he should join Conor or protect Abbie and her son. Meanwhile, the fragile new world is thrown into chaos again as developments advance.
