action
Brian Murphy, a United States Army engineer , is the sole survivor of a plane crash off the West African coast. At this point numerous villages were attacked by zombies the previous night. In an abandoned village, Brian finds a broken pickup truck , which he fixes so that he can drive off. After a while, the car gets stuck in the mud of a dry river bed and Brian finds himself surrounded by zombies. At the last moment he is rescued by the African soldier Daniel, whose wife was killed in the zombie attacks last night and whose son has been missing since then. Daniel had deserted the army to return to his village. Together they get the pickup up and running again. They agree that Daniel will get the car to find his son and that he will take Brian to the nearest airport in return. On the way, tensions arise between Daniel and Brian due to Daniel's bad experience with the role of the US Army in his country's civil war. At the airfield, Brian tries to use the radio in the tower to make an emergency call, to which he receives no answer. Meanwhile, Daniel manages to pump out fuel for the pickup. They drive on to find a safe colony of survivors elsewhere, where Daniel hopes to learn something about his son's whereabouts. You spend the night in a village with survivors and leave the next morning. On the journey through the steppe, the pickup crashed on a tree trunk and finally got stuck with a broken axle. Brian and Daniel continue on foot and spend the night by a campfire. When Brian wakes up, they are surrounded by zombies and he watches Daniel get bitten. Both shoot their way free, but Daniel dies soon after. While he was dying, Brian promised to continue the search for his son. Brian is now on his own way. Finally he reaches the colony, which is holed up in a fort . There he managed to reach his friend, Officer Frank Greaves at the US military base in Henderson , Nevada , who informed him that the epidemic had already spread worldwide and that the situation in the United States was no better than in Africa. Brian learns that his family is also affected. Shortly afterwards, the fort is overrun by zombies. At the last moment, Brian meets Daniel's son and hands him Daniel's necklace. Both now see themselves hopelessly exposed to the zombie hordes that have invaded the fort.
criticism
"Horror film that aims to tell of the gradual rapprochement between two different cultures and beings, but is not convincing either as a genre film or as an adventurous drama."
