history
The single Baby Now That I've Found You became a bestseller in the fall of 1967 . The follow-up single Back on My Feet Again also made it into the top 20 in 1968. The debut album From the Foundations, however, did not sell well. The next single, Any Old Time You're Lonely and Sad , made it into the top 30 and its successor, Build Me Up, Buttercup , written by Mike d'Abo , became a million-seller. Curtis left soon after, Colin Young from Barbados came for him . The single In the Bad Bad Old Days made it into the top 10 again at the beginning of 1969, My Little Chickadee and Born to Live and Born to Die were only represented at the bottom of the charts. In 1970 the Foundations dissolved.
The group's singer, Clem Curtis , who started a solo career after leaving, died on March 27, 2017 at the age of 76 of complications from lung cancer .
