The Madcaps , also Madcaps , was an Austrian band that was particularly successful during the time of the Viennese dialect wave. It was founded in 1965 in Strasshof an der Nordbahn by Hans-Ferdinand Kloiber. Originally the band was called German-Six .
With the song I man i dram , the band made their commercial breakthrough and placed themselves in the Austrian charts at number 3. The most famous member was Georg Danzer , who sang and wrote for the group for a short time (including I man i dram , Der Schneemensch ) and later started a very successful solo career with songs like Der Tschik and Jö schau . Gert Haussner aka "Bluebone" plays in the Boring Blues Band, which was founded in 1991 .
